This is obviously not my real name… don’t blame me; blame the fucking internet. Everything you write, every picture you post, every insecurity or triumph is just left dangling in the wind for any future employer to find. So, though my real name won’t be attached to this, everything else will be the absolute truth.
This is going to be a year long experiment to see just how disciplined I can be. It will also document my little testing ground to see whether I should finally grow up, kill my dreams, and just exist. The areas I’m going to work on this year are:
My writing.
Sorting out my past to see what is story-worthy.
Guitar.
Drawing.
My body.
This is pretty much just a way to document my year. If you read this blog, I hope you like it. If you don’t like it… well, I’m ok with that too.
I am gay. I am an atheist. I am a liberal. These aren’t the things I care about an employer knowing; believe me, it gets much better than that.
I think this is positive way of looking at it

Thanks. This is mainly a tool to hold myself accountable. But, I am finding that I annoy seeing ‘follows’ pop up.

Actually, that should be ‘enjoy.’ Stupid autocorrect.

Thanks, Darren. And sorry for the delayed response I couldn’t figure out how I missed your comment, but I looked at the date and that time was a little… exciting… here in Boston and I think I zoned out.

Oh, wow. Thank you so much. By the way… as far as what we were talking about earlier (sales of crafts), be careful what you wish for. I’ve had five orders in the last two weeks and each order takes me at least 17 hours. I’ve been swamped with work… and I’ve decided I have to raise my prices. I figured out that after I deduct supplies, I’m making about $3.5 an hour for all that work.

Well that’s amazing news. Congrats on the sales, and yeah definitely increase your prices!
No matter how much I wish, I still haven’t got any sales!
Let me have your shop link and I’ll go and take a look at your wizardry 🙂

Thank you for saying that. But I think because I’m selling out of the UK it seems to be a real turn-off as Etsy has mainly a US customer base. It’s not so well known over here. Also, my jewellery is probably seen as expensive, even though I still wouldn’t be making much once overheads are accounted for. Like with what you produce, some of my items take many hours to produce. A simple peyote cuff can take up to 20 hours.

Hi Thawk, I’m trying the same experiment as you, having started my blog this year. The only difference is I gave up on the job market after 4 solid years of looking. I haven’t changed much about me, although I probably should have. I look forward to reading your stuff.

Well, it hasn’t all gone as planned so far – but then, what ever does, right? 🙂 The once a day posting was overwhelming, so I just didn’t post at all for a while… hopefully have that little tic worked out and I’ll just post when I have something to ramble about.
I’ve glanced over your blog, and liked what I saw – I will have to go back do a more thorough reading because that’s definitely not light stuff.
